The Department of Public Safety, Maine State Police publishes criminal statistics for the State of Maine. According to the 2017 Crime in Maine report, Waldo County law enforcement agencies reported a total of 318 offenses. This total included 16 violent and 312 property crimes. That year, there was no murder, four rapes, one robbery, 11 aggravated assaults, 79 burglaries, 205 larcenies, 18 motor vehicle thefts, and no arsons recorded.

The county saw a sharp decrease in its crime rate from the previous two years. Per 100,000 population, the county recorded 803.72 crimes in 2017, 1,138.5 crimes in 2016, and 1,392.33 crimes in 2015. How Do I Visit an Inmate in Waldo County Jail?

People can visit inmates at the Waldo County Corrections Centre. All visitors should register at least 24 hours before the visit. Visitors can register by contacting the Corrections Administrator or writing to the inmate they want to visit. Visitors need to fill the visitors’ log before they can visit inmates.
